This is not a drill: the coffee-God suppliers out there have let us know that there’s actually a global shortage of coffee. In fact, production of the coffee bean has gone down since 2020 (and is forecast to decline), but as I’m sure you know, consumption keeps rising. This has caused the price of the coffee bean to double over 2020 - 2021.

This means that as a planet, we need to consume coffee wisely. When you think about it, café coffee contains, on average, around 12g of coffee. Coffee-pod coffee contains about 6g. Let’s think about that for a second: say a shipment of coffee comes in from Brazil; if those beans go into pods, then that’s double the number of cups of coffee that shipment would yield versus if they went into cafés.
