💌 When a Little Note Becomes a Big Deal

"My stock was running low, so much wet flooding weather here on the Mid North Coast of NSW, about 20 minutes down the road from Taree which has been hit very hard with the flooding. Its been a very hard and depressing week.

My family (RFS volunteers) have been out on the truck hosing out peoples homes, hubby and i have been looking after the grandkids so mum and dad could help out. The note i got today was spot on.

With every interaction we make someone feel big or small. Reflect and enjoy."

"An old girlfriend would leave surprise notes on my pillow and her places wishing me a wonderful day. At the time I thought it was a lovely gesture but didn’t realise how meaningful it really was (being a man). 

Over the years this practice has been replaced by electronic versions (i.e.. text and emoji's) which has the same intention however lacks the intimacy and impact that comes with someone taking the time to write something meaningful and put it in a place to surprise you. 

The world has changed however our feelings haven't and these gestures should always be done in such a way to remind you that you are very special and your well being matters to them."

"I love the notes in the delivery.

I remember the first delivery I got and the wonderful surprise of a hand written note. I don’t even remember what it said but I remember how it made me feel and the lift it gave me. Now, I get a feeling of anticipation every time I get a delivery, wondering if there will be a note and what it might say."

"What can I say, even seeing your box always puts a smile on my face.  went to get another package of pods out of the box last night to restock and I picked up the note and as a person that struggles a lot with my mental health it honestly just made my week. I now have it on my mirror to remind me every morning and night.

"When the parcel arrives, my process is:  

1. Read the notes on the outside 
2. Slit open the box & search for the note to see what inspiring words of wisdom or encouragement it contains.  It a relief to find one and have a read
3. I check to see if the order is correct
4. THEN I make a nice coffee.. got to get my priorities right

"I love you little handwritten notes.  They sit on my kitchen bench for ages, and as I walk through I just pick it up and re-read the note.  I think they are pertinent to us individually and as a society.  I probable head for the messages before I empty the box!

And the box…. I reuse them and my friends always get a chuckle out of the quotes on the boxes.  Ie  “me before coffee…….me after coffee…..”

I have to say though that the handwritten notes are a beautiful example of who you all are and what you are doing."
