Small Business Support

Are you an Urban Brew Community member who owns your own small business and are struggling?

As more legislations get passed, I am seeing more and more small businesses shut their doors , many permanently - and it honestly breaks my heart. As a fellow small business owner, I can empathise with each one of you who is going through this challenging time.

I've spoken about this many times before, but for those who don't know, a couple years ago I thought it was game over for me in the business world. Before the birth of Urban Brew, we were predominately doing contract packing and our biggest client went insolvent, leaving us with all their products and without hundreds of thousands of dollars. I was left with no choice but to make half of my staff redundant - to this day the memory of this makes my heart sink.

Whilst this wasn't caused by a pandemic, it was still a crippling time for the business. But the lesson from this was that there will be challenges you face that are beyond your control and when this happens there are 3 things you need to be aware of…

1. Act quickly. You cannot have a ‘wait and see’ attitude.

2. Get creative. What else can you do to bring money in (even if it’s completely outside of your normal industry)?

3. Sometimes you need to break the rules to survive and deal with the consequences later

As a business we are going through a lot right now, but we are incredibly lucky that we have a product that people want, or in some cases need. So, I want to help some of you who may not be as fortunate. If you're a small business owner, please reach out to me for a 20 minute phone call so that we can do some brainstorming and strategising to avoid you from closing your doors. Unfortunately, I can't promise to get back to all of you as I'm still juggling everything here, but I will try to do as many as possible.

If you think this will help you, please fill out a survey by clicking HERE and I'll try to get back to you soon. We also have an Urban Brew Accountability Community, which is a closed group on Facebook, that I'm regularly active in. If you aren't already in it, feel free to join it by clicking HERE.

To the rest of our amazing community, we're here for you during this difficult time and we're beyond grateful for your support.

Best,
